Cacildes Adventure - v2.0 - Short demo available


Hello everyone! 😊

My game, Cacildes Adventure, is ongoing a massive update for the upcoming v2.0 version. This big update is changing the way the game feels in every way, with improvements in every area. While the full release of this new version is still a few months away, I'm sharing a small demo with the improvements so far, so I can get some of your feedback early on on this phase :)

⚠ Important Warnings Before You Play

This demo is very work-in-progress and unstable. You will almost certainly encounter:

  • 🐞 Bugs

  • 📜 Missing content

  • ❌ Broken progression (I haven't found any bugs, but it's possible)

Most importantly, if you own the Steam version:

  • Your current saves will not be compatible with this demo.

  • Please back up your saves before playing.


🔍 What’s New / Being Worked On

Here’s what you’ll find in the current demo build of v2.0:

Gameplay & AI

  • Complete enemy AI redesign — Player and AI now share the same weapons, armor, and spells.

  • If you see an enemy with cool gear, you can probably get it.

  • Companions can loot and equip better gear automatically.

World & NPCs

  • NPC activities — Characters move around and live their lives instead of standing still.

  • Dialogue overhaul — Now powered by INK, making branching conversations easier to create.

Interface

  • New HUDs — Clearer enemy and player stats, improved status effect indicators.

Crafting

  • Smithing Shards (+1 to +5) — Upgrade weapons to +10, plus armor and shields too.

New Content

  • Secret NPC — Plays a big role in early boss weapon upgrades.

  • Armor sets — Forest Wanderer, Thief Set, and Obsidian Samurai.

  • Accessories — Cloaks and pauldrons can now be equipped separately.

  • Weapons & movesets — Iron Sword, Knife, Greataxe, updated Rapier moveset.

Combat Additions

  • Shield poking attacks — Stay defensive while still attacking.

  • Sprint attacks.

  • Smoother lock-on and target swapping.

Other Improvements

  • AI stats like Vitality, Endurance, Strength (foundation for future balancing).

  • Tweaked consumables — Removed redundant ones, improved others (e.g., Mead).

  • Fresh icons for all items and skills.

  • On death, only your position reloads — no more gold duplication bug.

  • Smarter shops — Restock after set days, some unique non-restocking items.

  • Fixed PS4/Xbox icons on gamepad.

Simply download the file, extract it, and run the game.

Of course, this is a small piece of the game for anyone who wishes to try and help make 2.0 a better version. The full game is already available on Steam for anyone who wishes to play :)


📅 What’s Next

I’ll be taking a short holiday next week, but work on v2.0 will continue in September.

Cacildes Adventure - Obsidian Samurai Boss Fight Improved



Here's the improved Obsidian Samurai boss fight from Cacildes Adventure v2.0!

In this video, you'll see that both the player and the enemy wield the same weapon — the Odachi — which means they also share the same animation move set!

They’re even wearing the same armor. This marks a big milestone for Cacildes Adventure: starting from v2.0, both AI enemies and players will share the same items, weapons, and even skills!

So if you spot an enemy using a weapon, from now on you can be sure — you’ll be able to claim it for yourself. :-)

Aqui está a luta melhorada contra o boss Samurai de Obsidiana em Cacildes Adventure v2.0!

Neste vídeo, vais ver que tanto o jogador como o inimigo usam a mesma arma — a Odachi — o que significa que partilham exatamente os mesmos movimentos e animações!

Ambos usam também a mesma armadura. Isto marca um passo importante em Cacildes Adventure: a partir da versão 2.0, os inimigos controlados pela IA e os jogadores passam a partilhar os mesmos itens, armas e até habilidades!

Por isso, sempre que vires um inimigo a usar uma arma, já sabes — a partir de agora vais poder apanhá-la para ti. :-)
