- Full Game Release v0.7 (July 2023)

Version 0.7 changes:

  • The equipment menu has been redesigned to be easier to use. It's compatible with the PS4 gamepad. You'll be able to see and equip items much more quickly, and you'll also be able to check the different stats of each weapon / armor;
  • Game difficulty has been added! There is now an easy and medium difficulity mode where enemies do less damage and move slower;
  • One of the most difficult bugs to fix was enemies pushing the player around and the player climbing over them. This has now been fixed. I've removed capsule colliders and rigidbodies from all enemies and replaced them with a character controller, which plays really well now and makes the combat feel more tight!
  • Finally, there's been some balancing tweaks here and there. I've removed combat music for regular enemies and now only bosses will have battle music. I think it fits the game better.

+ New Features:

Questlog System: A questlog has been implemented to help you track your progress across the main story objectives, providing a clearer sense of direction in your adventure.

Posture System Enhancement: Inspired by Sekiro, attacking enemies now damages their posture, encouraging a more aggressive playstyle. Heavy attacks and jump attacks now deal even more posture damage, rewarding strategic combat choices.

Mage Builds - Intelligence Stat: A new intelligence stat has been introduced specifically for mage builds. This stat will enhance the effectiveness of your magical abilities and empower your character as a spellcaster.

New Spells:

- Spitfire: A powerful flamethrower spell that will ignite your enemies with devastating fire damage.
- Push Force: Similar to Dark Souls' force miracle, this spell pushes enemies away, and its strength is tied to your intelligence stat.

Accessory Slots: You can now equip two accessories. You’ll be able to unlock up to four accessory slots in an upcoming version, similar to Elden Ring's talisman pouch mechanic.

Improved Item Switching: You can now use the scroll wheel of your mouse or arrow keys to easily navigate through your favorite items list, streamlining the process of switching between them.

More Illusionary Walls added!

+ Bugfixes:

Main Story Critical Bug Fix: The critical bug in the castle, where the game froze after talking with the king for recruitment acceptance, has been resolved. This issue was introduced after upgrading to Unity 2023.

Unarmed Attack Fix: Unarmed attacks were not dealing any damage, but now they've been fixed, ensuring your punches and kicks are effective in combat.

Game Balance Improvements: The overall game balance, including stats progression and enemy stats, has been fine-tuned to provide a more engaging and challenging gameplay experience.

Greatsword Stamina Cost Reduction: The stamina cost per attack for greatswords has been reduced, making them more viable and satisfying to wield in battles.

- Full Game Release (June 2023)




Hello everyone. I am pleased to announce the full game is now available for download!
After a year and a half of development (it started in January 2022), I am very happy to see this project concluding in what I believe is a high-note. I want to thank my girlfriend, Cátia, which was crucial to get me going during the highs and lows of developing this. A special thanks to Synty Studios, which assets I have been buying for many years and finally got the chance to put to good use! 
And thanks Unity for a game engine which has allowed me to fullfill my life's dream: to create my own RPG!
Please report any bugs that you find in the discussion board. I am available to help if you get stuck during your playthrough. :-)

OLDER RELEASES:

- Release 0.6 (April 2023)


Some key-things to look forward in the new version:

- Lock on has been improved to handle multiple enemies more smoothly
- Ladders are much more fluid to climb now, and you can sprint while climbing
- You can now upgrade weapons. There are several ores scattered around the existing and the new maps;
- Two new maps: Snailcliff and Cecily Town. The latter is under construction still, but will serve as the main hub of the game;
- New weapon: the iron longsword, alongside the ranger armor set!
- Enemies can use the shield more efficiently to block your hits, but they can be guard broken if hit too many times while under their shield. This opens them up for an attack on your part!
- Parrying an enemy successfully now gives you a small window of time to counter-attack, which gives you some bonus attack power on that specific R1/R2;
- Enemies can parry you now as well, altough you won't get stunned (since Cacildes doesn't have a posture bar, only poise which is a hidden mechanic)
- Illusionary walls added! Find many secrets hidden in the environment
- Travelling between bonfires is now possible.

Additionaly, there are now more options in the Options menu:


And last, but not least, the game now tracks certain analytics events using Unity Analytics. You can opt out of this data tracking at the beginning of the game by clicking on the left-bottom button here:

Collecting game data is helpful to understand how players are progressing through the various areas of the game, and to understand if they are picking up on some hidden items and finding secret bosses and so on.

  • Version 0.5-alpha released! 🔥🔥
    • Multi-language support: Portuguese is now an option!
    • Companions added - explore the world with Hugo, your brother, as your fighting companion
    • New map available: The mountainpass
    • Faction system - bandits now don't attack you if you wear their clothes. The Forest Wanderers guild now has a questline of its own too.
    • Shop system added! Buy items from NPCs. Their stock renews after a couple of days.
    • Favorite items UI improved. It's now easier to equip consumables
    • New secret weapon added, tied to the Forest Wanderers questline

  • 0.5.1 Updates:

:: Improved Iron Axe, Bastard Sword and Fire Axe hitboxes, animations and trails

These weapons are more viable now

:: Added weapon types (Blunt, Slash and Pierce) to player weapons.

Pierce weapons like lances will now be less effective against skeletons (because bones and lots of empty spaces in between), and blunt weapons like axes will be better against almost all kinds of enemies.

:: Improved elemental damage

Fire weapons like the Fire Axe are now more effective if an enemy is weak to fire

:: Improved weapon display text

Damage done to enemies is now displayed in a queue, it's much better overall

:: Improved Obsidian Samurai hitboxes

There was some unfair hitboxes not being deactivated in the right keyframes. Should be fixed.

- Release 0.4 (January 2023)


  • Version 0.4 released! 🔥🔥
    • Added two new bosses (one is a secret that only appears at night)
    • Added new weapons (a poison dagger, a katana and a fire axe)
    • Added a tutorial which explains all the game's mechanics
    • Added cooking recipes
    • Using potions and food now plays an animation that locks the player for some frames. This adds more tension to battles.
    • Improved enemy AI. Enemies will now strafe, dodge more, and their animations are more telegraphed. In general, combat should feel a lot smoother
    • Added fall damage. Be careful when jumping from high places

- Release 0.3 (December 2022)

- Release 0.2 (November 2022)


A major rework of version 0.1. Includes a more souls-like gameplay, with free camera and a parry system like Sekiro.Major features added: day/night system, multiple save files, major UI rework, gamepad support, alchemy crafting, book reading and more!Explore at your own leisure, and don't forget to share feedback.











- Release 0.1 (September 2022)


At the release time, this was labeled as the first episode, and acts as a prologue. Its main quest involves a bear that has been causing trouble in Cacilde's homestead. Cacildes must track the bear and take care of it.

This episode will be redone in version 0.2, which will contain the new gameplay. Moving forward, the game will no longer be presented in episodic format.
